Support Services

We offer several support services to insure that commuters can make it to campus—and back home again—with relative ease. If you have any questions about the services listed, please contact our office at 607-255-4600.

Emergency Ride—Call 607-255-0000

If a personal emergency arises during the workday and you need to get to your car, home, or to a sick child, call 607-255-0000. We’ll get you where you need to go from 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Monday–Friday. Please note that this service is available only when the university is open and operating normally and is not for weather-related closings or emergencies, unscheduled overtime, or appointments.

AlterNet Rides Ride Matching Service

If you want to form a carpool or add members to your RideShare group, check out AlterNet Rides. This interactive ride-match service is available to all members of the Cornell community.

FamilyCare Support Service

If you participate in the RideShare, OmniRide, or Occasional Parker commuter programs and have documented dependent- or child-care responsibilities, you may apply for additional books of free, one-day parking permits (Tier 2, K, and T areas).

Campus-to-Campus Express Coach

Campus-to-Campus  is an express, door-to-door bus service connecting the Ithaca and New York City campuses of Cornell University and may be used for business or pleasure travel. All Cornell community members and their guests may use the service.

Volunteer Firefighters & EMTs

If you are a volunteer firefighter or EMT and respond to calls during your workday, you may request a permit that fits your priority parking needs, and may even be eligible to receive a rebate on your permit fees. Rebate forms are available from your chief and can be submitted in April.

Event and Conference Parking

Whether it’s a wedding, memorial service, department celebration, or conference, we can assist with all of your special parking and commuting needs. With advance notice, we can help you arrange traffic control, reserved spaces, parking permits, and shuttle transportation.

Red Runner

Red Runner courier service can pick up, drop off, or deliver just about anything (and anyone) on campus and throughout the area. All trips are reserved, dispatched, and billed centrally. For information about services and fees, visit www.redrunner.cornell.edu or call 607-254-8293.

M*A*P (Motorist Assist Program) Call 607-255-0000

M*A*P is a free service provided by C&PS. We’ll inflate a soft tire, jump-start a dead battery, provide a gallon of gas, or call a locksmith or tow truck if necessary. Your vehicle must be on University property. M*A*P response time is usually between 5 and 20 minutes. Call 607-255-0000 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Monday–Friday.
